Preventative Care Program Benefits - T & C's

Our care program offers a range of benefits tailored to your dental health needs. Below, we provide detailed descriptions of each benefit, including any associated terms and conditions.

General Terms

  • Interchangeability: Benefits are usable within practice and with any of our dentists.

  • Non-Transferable: Benefits apply only to the named member and cannot be transferred.

  • Hotline Advice: Members may request advice for registered family members if the member contacts us directly and the family member has been seen within the last 12 months at either practice. We cannot provide advice for individuals who are not our patients or whose registration has expired due to medico-legal regulations.

Please note: This program is not a prepayment plan. Benefits are redeemable only while membership is active and cannot be credited toward other treatments. Like a gym membership, we recommend you track your entitlements to ensure you are using your benefits fully.

While we aim to remind you of checkups and appointments, it is the patient’s responsibility to monitor recall intervals. Missed appointments or unclaimed benefits cannot be carried forward.

Specific Benefits

Checkups and Scale & Polish

All care plan levels include twice-yearly routine examinations and scale & polish treatments, dependent on your membership level. These are essential for maintaining oral health and are calculated from your membership start date.

You may schedule these treatments separately or consecutively. Additional examinations or gum treatments can be arranged on a "pay-as-you-go" basis.

Please note: Track your entitlement for these regular appointments, as unused benefits cannot typically be carried forward.

Routine Screening X-Rays

Routine x-rays (commonly bitewing radiographs) are included to check for decay between teeth. These are typically taken every 2-3 years for adults with most natural teeth.

This benefit also includes one emergency radiograph per treatment course for diagnostic purposes (e.g., abscesses).

Additional x-rays are charged at standard rates.

Exclusions: Panoramic x-rays and 3D CBCT scans are not included unless you are a Gold member.

Emergency Dentist Hotline

Our care program offers access to an emergency dental hotline for urgent advice outside normal working hours.

  • Conditions of Use: The hotline number is exclusively for members and must not be shared. It is for emergencies only and cannot be used to book or cancel appointments.

  • Availability: If a dentist is unavailable immediately, please leave a clear message with your name, issue, and contact number. Repeat your number for clarity. We aim to respond within one hour, barring extenuating circumstances.

Inappropriate use of this benefit may result in its withdrawal without refund.

Emergency Call-Outs

For urgent dental needs outside normal hours, members on Silver and Gold plans have the call-out fee (£90) included in their membership.

  • Conditions of use: This covers emergency treatments only, such as pain relief or trauma care, and excludes cases that could reasonably wait until regular hours.

  • Location: Emergency care is provided at Narberth Dental Health Practice. Coverage does not extend to other practices, such as while travelling.

Exclusions:

  • Repairs/replacement of crowns, bridges, veneers, or dentures.

  • Permanent fillings (temporary materials only in emergencies).

  • Treatment costs unless the issue is trauma-related and you are a Gold member.

Trauma Cover (Gold Members Only)

Gold members receive additional trauma-related benefits, including waived treatment fees for injuries caused by force, impact, or blow. Coverage includes:

  • Tooth removal, splinting, and emergency restorations.

  • Management of soft tissue injuries and airway obstructions.

  • Prescriptions and follow-up care.

Exclusions:

  • Repairs to existing crowns, bridges, or veneers.

  • Fracture repairs to dentures, unless single fractures caused by external trauma are repairable.

  • Final prosthetic restorations after initial trauma care.

Note: Trauma does not include damage caused by pre-existing dental conditions.

Treatment Discounts

Silver and Gold members receive discounts on fillings (direct restorations). These do not apply to veneers, crowns, inlays, or root treatments, except for associated core build-ups.

Most fillings are non-toxic, mercury-free composite materials. Exceptions are made only for specific clinical needs with the member’s consent.

Membership Terms

  • Payments are collected monthly via direct debit. Membership benefits are valid only if payments are up to date.

  • A minimum commitment of three months is required. Cancellation is permitted with 30 days’ notice after this period.

  • Membership fees are reviewed annually with a minimum of 30 days’ notice. Members may cancel at this time without penalty.

  • All Memberships have a 14 day waiting period before any treatment can be claimed on an active subscription.
